Musoma Rural, near Lake Victoria, in Tanzania

Musoma Rural is the central district in the Mara Region of

the Northern Part of Tanzania.

It is in this region that the proposed development projects are situated.

Hon. Mkono is building secondary schools in the villages of Busegwe and Buturu, the centre of the land of the Zanaki people

In Butiama, the home village of the Father of the Tanzanian Nation, he intends to establish a university in honour of Mwalimu J.K Nyerere. Butiama is located about 35 km’s from Musoma town.

With the help of Hon. Mkono, the villagers of Kasoma, Mikirira  and Bisumwa are busy renovating and  modernizing their primary schools, constructing new secondary schools, harvesting rain from the new school roofs as well as pumping water for domestic and agriculture use from Lake Victoria and the Mara river by using wind pumps.

Mr Mkono has started a water project to pump water from the Mara river, using a windmill, to a hill closeby in
Lyamisanga. The villagers in the surrounding area can now have clean water for home consumption as well as use this water for agricultural and other development purposes.
