Hon. Mkono donated a new administration building as well as a water pump to a new borehole to the villagers of Buswahili and Kongoto, Kiagata ward.

Oswald Mang'ombe High School in Butuguri will be handed over to President Hon. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete on behalf of the Tanzanian government on October 13th, 2009.

 

Opening celebration for the new dormitory of Chief Wanzagi Secondary School for Girls ( 13.October 2009)

On October 13th, there will be the official opening ceremony for the newly erected dormitory at Chief Wanzagi Girls' Secondary School. It will combine the celebration of the Mwenge ya Uhuru with the festivities around the school. The ceremony starts at 11am and everybody is welcome to join us at Buturu!

After I graduated from the UWC in New Mexico I spent a few months at FUNDACEA living as a student. While I experience severe culture shock, like most IB students who wind up there, and I got stung by bees while chasing a stray bull, and was dive bombed by dorm room--I still grew to appreciate the work that the school was doing, from its serious business of growing it own food to the relationships of sharing and service it has built in local communities.
